"Bonneville Thruxton"?? Am confused... these are two different models,
Bonneville was launched a couple of years back... the Thruxton is a more
recent addition to the Trumpy stable.

Another Group (free plug...www.bikersanon.com) had a Triumph Test Ride day
recently...below is a review of the bikes ridden. In summary, the Thruxton
is a firm favourite as a 2nd bike.

I know this is a bit delayed and Paul has already given a good report
of the test day and certain bikes. But I thought I'd give you a
little more indepth view about the responses to the bikes ridden.
There were a few surprised people, including myself, after trying
some of those bikes, so here we go:

Daytona 650 - Damn, that's one bigger and better difference over last
years 600 model. Even Dave ZX9R was impressed when he got back with
the scratches on his knee sliders! Tons more power, low down torque,
smooth and fast into corners, lots of fun and beaut to look at.
Girls and boys had the same views, although the angular look received
split views of good and bad. I love it personally, as does Peggy who
loves the whole bike....

Daytona 955i - The few boys who rode this liked its smoothness and
power, but views tended to be 'nice bike', rather than having a big
wow factor. I found it too big and not half as easy to ride as the
650, but then the set up for little ol me might not have helped.

Rocket III - yeah well, Paul has really said it all in his email.
Its gives a great big smile factor and is not for the girls. Dave
reckons its just a bit difficult to drop it into corners - as the
worn down footpegs showed when he returned...hmmm...

Thruxton - This was a big favourite. Paul and Kinna have already
mentioned how beaut this bike is. Ray ZX6R and Kinna rode it and
both oozed good things about it when they came back from their test
ride. Its a modern classic with power, fun to ride and great
handling. Its the sorta bike everyone definitely wanted with their
sportsbike in the garage. Even those of us who didn't get the chance
to ride it wanted one. Boy and girls look great on it - especially
Kinna whose black/grey leathers and long dark hair matched perfectly
with the bikes similar colours!

Sprint ST - a couple of the guys rode this and although I don't
remember much of what was said about it, the remarks I did hear were
positive. A great sports tourer type of bike.

Tiger - the guys who rode this said it would be a great bike and fun
for those on/off road type rides.

Speedmaster - a classic quote from one rider of this bike, "its like
riding an armchair" - and he was being positive about it!! Nice bike
but for those with a particular laid back riding requirement...

America & T100 - don't think anyone rode these. If anyone who was
there did have a go, then let us know what they were like.

So Triumph are obviously begining to do something right with their
bikes....

Yes it's a hotted up and cosmetically changed Bonnie but it's model name
is Triumph Thruxton not Triumph Bonneville Thruxton.

(although I think ALX is being a little pedantic :-)

they share common components in varying states of tune)
